OVERVIEW

Following in the footsteps of the immensely popular and heralded Dinan intake for the N55 engine, this next-generation carbon fiber intake takes the same path to success for BMW's B58-powered M240i/340i/440i. The design improves on the factory setup by increasing flow through a larger airbox and filter element, improving throttle response while lessening strain on the turbocharger for maximum efficiency. Dinan engineers went a step further, redesigning the intake pipe itself: the factory tube's baffling and Helmholtz chamber — features that exist purely to reduce sound — were eliminated, removing a turbulent airflow path that robbed the factory system of power. Completely carbon fiber construction (not a mix of materials like previous-generation intakes) means the finish holds up over time as well as it performs. Result: up to 15 HP and 13 lb-ft of torque at 6000 RPM on a completely stock vehicle.
